The South Wales Sea Fisheries Committee (swsfc) is responsible for fisheries regulation along the coast of South Wales. Managing inshore fisheries in sympathy with the marine environment is a challenging task for which we offer the following full-time, permanent, superannuable posts:-


FISHERY OFFICER (South Pembs Area)
Starting at £20,830 (increasing to £25,003)

SFCs have a statutory duty to manage inshore fisheries (to 6 miles offshore) and enforce fisheries legislation. Report and statistical compilation requires education to a reasonable standard. Experience in fisheries, marine, scientific or law enforcement would be advantageous.

Post is home based with a work vehicle, and is Superannuable. Good physical fitness is required to undertake enforcement duties onshore and at sea.  Regular unsocial hours including night-time and weekends are to be expected.

A clean driving licence is desirable, as is the ability to speak Welsh.
